SHERHPA : Characteristics of hydrocarbon refrigerants. Comparison with R22

Summary :
Hydrocarbons may fit into any temperature range from evaporating temperature down to –170 °C. Historically, hydrocarbons were among the first refrigerant fluids in use on the former times, but due to its flammability their use was abandoned in favour of inert fluids as CFCs. Their use during the years as working refrigerant fluid was just conserved at large refrigeration plants within the oil and gas industry.
