A look back at Heat Exchanger World Europe 2024
Joint participation by the GRETh and NeoTherm Consulting
Christophe Weber (GRETh) and Clément Boillot (NeoTherm Consulting) were in Rotterdam on November 13 and 14 to attend the second edition of Heat Exchanger World Europe, a major event in the field of heat exchangers and their extended applications.
Throughout the two days, they visited several booths, exchanged views with industry experts and took part in enriching discussions. They also attended a series of conferences highlighting different aspects and innovations related to heat exchanger technologies.
It was an event rich in knowledge and perspectives, and below is a summary of the key moments!
Day 1 - November 13 :
November 13 opened with an introduction by CALGAVIN's Martin Gough,, who highlighted the challenges facing heat exchangers in a world undergoing an energy transition. An excellent opportunity to remind everyone that the field of heat transfer and heat exchangers has a bright future ahead of it!
Len Zoetemeijer, independent consultant, then took the floor to discuss the challenges of air-cooled heat exchangers, particularly in the LNG (liquefied natural gas) sector. His talk highlighted interesting comparisons between selection criteria and feedback on the impact of fan performance in air-cooled coolers. Although fan selection may seem straightforward, it is in fact based on numerous technical parameters and field-specific constraints.
Several workshops were then organized, most of them ...

Day 2 - November 14 :
The second day began with a keynote by Richard BOWCUTT, from PARKER, on the use of Printed Circuit Heat Exchangers (PCHE) in energy transition applications. His presentation included tangible examples of projects over the last 30 years, and went on to highlight the opportunities offered by these compact heat exchangers, while underlining the technical and operational challenges involved in integrating them into sustainable energy solutions.
This was followed by two dedicated workshops. The first focused on heat exchanger applications for the energy transition. Arnold KLEIJN, from HRS HEAT EXCHANGERS, opened the session by exploring the heat transfer solutions used in ...
