Symposium : Flow manipulation for heat transfer enhancement
ASME joint U.S.-European Fluids Engineering Conference, July 17-20, 2006, Miami, FL.
This symposium is intended to provide a platform to exchange information, report on the latest results and identify research needs concerning issues related to the various aspects of heat transfer enhancement by flow manipulation. Special emphasis will be placed on fluid flow and heat transfer fundamentals and applications.
Discussions of work on aspects such as passive and active generation and manipulation of flow structures in single and multiphase flows are welcome. Examples of enhancement by means of flow manipulation on heat transfer include the effect of :
- flow instability and spatial chaos,
- flow curvature and/or rotation,
- oscillatory flow,
- suction and blowing,
- vortex generation.
