A look back at Heat Exchanger World Europe 2026

GRETh traveled to Rotterdam on May 6 and 7 to attend the third edition of the Heat Exchanger World Europe. This event has now become a established fixture in the industrial landscape of the heat exchanger sector, both in Europe and internationally, given the wide range of participants and international companies in attendance.

The GRETh was an official supporter of this 2026 edition, which brought together more than 60 exhibitors. This event, focused on the European heat exchanger market (from manufacturing to application), highlighted the numerous opportunities and strong attraction of this market; this was particularly highlighted on several occasions during discussions between GRETh and various players in the heat exchanger sector, who until then had traditionally been distant from the European market.

Day 1 – May 6 :

The first day was rich in content, with numerous presentations taking place in two conference rooms.

Among the morning presentations, Rene QUISTof LINDEgave a talk detailing the optimization method used to reduce process costs associated with the installation of shell-and-tube heat exchangers for NH3 applications. During this presentation, the use of TEMA J heat exchangers with dual inlet manifolds coupled with a distribution plate upstream of the tube bundle, along with the use of vertical baffles, made it possible to simultaneously reduce costs by lowering the number of heat exchangers required while maintaining good heat transfer and distribution performance.

Day 2 – May 7 :

The day began with a keynote lecture by Sravani MURTINTY on developments in the SMR reactor technology proposed by ROLLS-ROYCE SMR. A presentation on the current status of this type of small modular reactor was given, followed by an illustration of the possibilities offered by the implemented modularity principle, particularly the ability to adapt to the final on-site production requirements.

The day continued with numerous discussions with trade show attendees and exhibiting companies, allowing GRETh to promote the association and present its unique structure to an international audience.

For instance, the American company METALFORMS, ...
