🆕 Revolutionizing Renewable Energy Storage: Fives’ Pioneering Partnership with Zhonglv Zhongke in China 🇨🇳. Fives has been selected by the Chinese company Zhonglv Zhongke Energy Storage Technology Co for the supply of cryogenic equipment, marking a significant milestone in the renewable energy storage industry. This collaboration is at the heart of the world’s first industrial-scale project using Liquid Air Energy Storage (LAES) technology. The storage unit, set to be commissioned by the end of 2024, will be installed in Golmud, in the Qinghai province of China. It will store a remarkable 60MW of solar energy, ready to be redistributed into the grid to power the region’s industries and homes. At Fives, we’re committed to supporting our clients in their ambitious projects. Our contribution to this project - six heat exchangers - will liquify the air required to store the solar energy produced, allowing it to be released when needed. These heat exchangers are proudly produced in our workshops in Golbey, in the East of France.
