Un pic de puissance se produit alors dans certains crayons de combustible, suffisamment important pour entra\u00eener l\u2019\u00e9bullition en film du r\u00e9frig\u00e9rant qui les entoure. Ceci provoque la chute du refroidissement des crayons et donc une rapide et importante augmentation de la temp\u00e9rature de la gaine qui les entoure. L\u2019\u00e9valuation du risque de rupture de la gaine est un sujet d\u2019\u00e9tude de l\u2019Institut de Radioprotection et de S\u00fbret\u00e9 Nucl\u00e9aire. Ces \u00e9changes de chaleur transitoires ne sont toujours pas compris et mod\u00e9lis\u00e9s. Pour comprendre ces ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes, une boucle exp\u00e9rimentale a \u00e9t\u00e9 construite \u00e0 l\u2019Institut de M\u00e9canique des Fluides de Toulouse. Du HFE7000 circule de bas en haut dans une section d\u2019essais verticale de g\u00e9om\u00e9trie semi-annulaire. Le demi-cylindre int\u00e9rieur est une feuille de m\u00e9tal chauff\u00e9e par effet Joule. Sa temp\u00e9rature est mesur\u00e9e par une cam\u00e9ra infrarouge, coupl\u00e9e avec une cam\u00e9ra rapide pour la visualisation de l\u2019\u00e9coulement. La courbe d\u2019\u00e9bullition enti\u00e8re est \u00e9tudi\u00e9e en r\u00e9gimes stationnaire et transitoire : convection, d\u00e9clenchement de l\u2019\u00e9bullition, \u00e9bullition nucl\u00e9\u00e9e, passage en film, \u00e9bullition en film et remouillage. Les r\u00e9gimes stationnaires sont bien mod\u00e9lis\u00e9s par des corr\u00e9lations de la litt\u00e9rature. Diff\u00e9rents mod\u00e8les sont propos\u00e9s pour repr\u00e9senter les transferts de chaleur transitoires : l\u2019\u00e9volution de la convection et de l\u2019\u00e9bullition nucl\u00e9\u00e9e se font de mani\u00e8re auto similaire pendant un palier de puissance. Ce constat permet de mod\u00e9liser des \u00e9volutions plus compliqu\u00e9es telles des rampes de temp\u00e9rature. Le mod\u00e8le de Hsu instationnaire pr\u00e9dit bien le d\u00e9clenchement de l\u2019\u00e9bullition. Pour des cr\u00e9neaux de puissance, le passage en film se fait \u00e0 une temp\u00e9rature constante et le flux critique augmente avec la puissance, tandis que pour des rampes de puissance la temp\u00e9rature augmente mais le flux critique diminue avec l\u2019augmentation de la puissance. Quand la paroi est chauff\u00e9e, les flux de chaleur en \u00e9bullition en film sont beaucoup plus importants qu\u2019en stationnaire mais ce r\u00e9gime est encore mal compris.
