La Commission europ\u00e9enne a adopt\u00e9 aujourd\u2019hui un Livre vert sur l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique qui vise \u00e0 placer les \u00e9conomies d\u2019\u00e9nergie \u00e0 un rang plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 dans l\u2019ordre des priorit\u00e9s. Confront\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019augmentation des prix du p\u00e9trole et \u00e0 la perspective d\u2019une couverture \u00e0 70 % de ses besoins \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques par les importations d\u2019ici 2030, l\u2019Union europ\u00e9enne doit entamer un d\u00e9bat sur les possibilit\u00e9s d\u2019\u00e9conomiser l\u2019\u00e9nergie.<\/p>\n

Le livre vert \u00e9num\u00e8re un certain nombre d\u2019options permettant d\u2019\u00e9conomiser de mani\u00e8re rentable 20 % de la consommation d\u2019\u00e9nergie d\u2019ici 2020 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un changement du comportement des consommateurs et des technologies \u00e0 haute efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique.<\/p>\n

Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ces \u00e9conomies, la facture \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique de l\u2019UE diminuerait de quelque 60 milliards d\u2019euros, ce qui permettrait d\u2019investir dans les secteurs \u00e9conomiques de l\u2019UE o\u00f9 l\u2019industrie europ\u00e9enne peut renforcer sa position de leader. \u00abCette initiative dans le domaine de l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique aidera l\u2019Europe \u00e0 atteindre deux objectifs fondamentaux de la strat\u00e9gie de Lisbonne: cr\u00e9er plus de croissance et de meilleurs emplois. Elle aidera \u00e9galement l\u2019Europe \u00e0 tenir ses engagements de Kyoto\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Andris Piebalgs, commissaire en charge de l\u2019\u00e9nergie. \u00abL\u2019Union europ\u00e9enne doit explorer toutes les voies possibles pour atteindre l\u2019objectif de 20 % d\u2019\u00e9conomies.\u00bb<\/p>\n
