Les efforts de recherche actuels visent \u00e0 trouver des alternatives aux combustibles fossiles pour alimenter le dessalement par voie thermique. L'\u00e9nergie nucl\u00e9aire offre une option r\u00e9alisable pour la cog\u00e9n\u00e9ration d'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 et la production d'eau douce en raison de la quantit\u00e9 importante de chaleur utile r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9e. Cette chaleur est exploit\u00e9e pour produire de la vapeur et de l'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 sur place afin d'alimenter les installations de dessalement par voie thermique et \u00e0 membrane. Des r\u00e9acteurs nucl\u00e9aires de grande ou de petite taille (SMR) peuvent \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s. Cet article passe en revue les diff\u00e9rents aspects du dessalement nucl\u00e9aire, les diff\u00e9rents r\u00e9acteurs nucl\u00e9aires qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 coupl\u00e9s \u00e0 des proc\u00e9d\u00e9s de dessalement et les syst\u00e8mes de dessalement hybrides coupl\u00e9s \u00e0 des r\u00e9acteurs nucl\u00e9aires. Il traite \u00e9galement de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et de l'acceptation par le public des pratiques de dessalement nucl\u00e9aire, ainsi que des derni\u00e8res \u00e9tudes et \u00e9valuations \u00e9conomiques concernant les centrales de dessalement nucl\u00e9aire sur site.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dix grands projets dans le monde sont principalement exploit\u00e9s en tant qu'usines de dessalement nucl\u00e9aire. Les principaux proc\u00e9d\u00e9s de dessalement coupl\u00e9s aux SMR nucl\u00e9aires sont MSF, MED et RO.
