L\u2019intensification de ces \u00e9changes et l\u2019am\u00e9lioration du rendement sont devenues aujourd\u2019hui une probl\u00e9matique majeure dans le monde industriel, des organismes de r\u00e9glementation mais aussi de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 dans son ensemble, qui prend conscience de l\u2019\u00e9puisement progressif des ressources \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques et qui se soucie de l\u2019avenir en mati\u00e8re \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique. Face \u00e0 ces enjeux \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques et environnementaux, Le d\u00e9fi technologique r\u00e9side dans le d\u00e9veloppement de nouveaux processus pour une meilleure gestion de l\u2019\u00e9nergie. Ce travail de th\u00e8se s\u2019inscrit dans ce cadre, et concerne particuli\u00e8rement les probl\u00e8mes li\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019intensification des \u00e9changes thermiques dans les \u00e9changeurs de chaleur. Les am\u00e9liorations des \u00e9changes thermiques dites \u2018passives\u2019 sont une voie d\u00e9j\u00e0 largement \u00e9labor\u00e9e et atteignent leurs limites. De nouvelles strat\u00e9gies d\u2019optimisation doivent donc \u00eatre \u00e9tudi\u00e9es. Une de ces strat\u00e9gies consiste \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s thermiques des fluides caloporteurs utilis\u00e9s dans les syst\u00e8mes thermiques, notamment dans les \u00e9changeurs de chaleur.<\/p>\n<p>Des progr\u00e8s importants en chimie ont permis d\u00e8s la fin des ann\u00e9es 90 de synth\u00e9tiser des particules de taille nanom\u00e9trique, qui, dispers\u00e9es dans un liquide porteur, constituent des nano-fluides. Leur synth\u00e8se r\u00e9pond au besoin d\u2019am\u00e9liorer les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s thermiques des fluides caloporteurs en y ins\u00e9rant une phase solide de conductivit\u00e9 thermique tr\u00e8s \u00e9lev\u00e9e. Le fil directeur de ce travail consiste donc \u00e0 caract\u00e9riser de mani\u00e8re approfondie le comportement thermique et rh\u00e9ologique des nano-fluides \u00e0 base de nanotubes de carbone (NTC) utilis\u00e9s tout au long de ce travail afin de quantifier les principaux param\u00e8tres influen\u00e7ant leurs propri\u00e9t\u00e9s thermophysiques et les ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes physiques r\u00e9gissant l\u2019intensification des transferts thermiques induits par ces nano-fluides. Une analyse des travaux de recherche ant\u00e9rieurs a \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9e dans le but de s\u2019affranchir des diff\u00e9rents param\u00e8tres qui peuvent influencer le comportement thermique et rh\u00e9ologique des nano-fluides dont on citera les param\u00e8tres li\u00e9s \u00e0 la composition des nano-fluides (fraction volumique des NTC, type de surfactant, rapport d\u2019aspect des NTC), la temp\u00e9rature, le fluide de base.<\/p>\n<p>Suite \u00e0 cette \u00e9tude, nous avons men\u00e9 une \u00e9tude exp\u00e9rimentale sur les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s thermophysiques des nano-fluides test\u00e9s (conductivit\u00e9 thermique, viscosit\u00e9 dynamique, masse volumique) et sur les performances thermiques dans un \u00e9changeur de chaleur. Nous avons pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 \u00e9galement une analyse des r\u00e9sultats de fa\u00e7on \u00e0 \u00e9tudier l\u2019influence des param\u00e8tres \u00e9voqu\u00e9s ci-dessus. Les r\u00e9sultats obtenus sont compar\u00e9s et discut\u00e9s vis-\u00e0-vis des mod\u00e8les classiques existants, en proposant des am\u00e9liorations et des interpr\u00e9tations selon les tendances obtenues.<\/p>\n<p>Les r\u00e9sultats prometteurs de cette \u00e9tude sont tr\u00e8s encourageants et montrent que l\u2019utilisation des nano-fluides \u00e0 base de nanotubes de carbone offre clairement une am\u00e9lioration des performances thermiques par rapport aux fluides de base classiques.
